So Who Has the Cheapest Auto Insurance?
You never know when things are going to fall apart but it’s sometimes surprising to learn that they come back together just as quickly.
Last year, I was in an unfortunate car accident. It was a cold fall day and my car skidded out on some leaves. My boss always told me that wet leaves were just as bad as ice but I just kind of laughed at him. Turns out, he was right.
I was mildly hurt. Got out of it with a broken arm, minor shoulder injury, and a bump on the head. While none of my injuries were life threatening, I had to take some time off of work. I ate through what little sick time I had then relied on my savings.
I didn’t get much from the insurance company because my car wasn’t worth a whole lot; also because I used cheap car insurance no deposit. I certainly didn’t get enough to buy a new car but I decided to use it to put a down payment on a new one. My credit was good and I got approved for the car loan, but because things were going to be tight until I got back to work, I had to be careful. My car payment fit within my budget but I didn’t have a whole lot left over for insurance.
I asked everyone that I knew about their policy. Of all of my friends and family, I wanted to find out who has the cheapest auto insurance, were they happy with it, and how much they paid (assuming they would want to tell me.) It didn’t take me long for me to dig up some leads. I spend a lot of time of the internet looking for the right company and it didn’t take me long to find it.
When I was finally ready to go back to work, I’d managed to get by on the little bit of savings I had. Thanks to a tight budget and a great deal on my car insurance, I was able to survive that time without running up any debt.
Now, I drive just as cautiously on wet autumn days as I do icy winter ones. My boss wasn’t kidding, wet leaves can be pretty dangerous. I feel like I was really lucky. I mean, it was no fun having a broken arm and totaling my car, but it really could’ve been a lot worse. I was lucky. Also next time I’ll get some better car insurance; don’t recommend no deposit car insurance…
